My name is Marta and this website collects information about my research.
I am broadly interested in social justice and what it could look like in the context of complex data-driven systems, considering their unequal impact on lives and across the planet. My doctoral project investigates the concept of openness in ‘Artificial Intelligence‘, by engaging critically with the history of open movements and their critiques.
Since 2022 I am a PhD candidate at the Sciences Po Law School where I am involved in different teaching activities and help coordinating the Law & Technology Research Group. In 2024-2025 I spent a year at the Department of Digital Humanities of King’s College London as a visiting phd researcher.
More about what I am currently doing here.
Before starting my doctorate, I worked on a research project on open practices within universities and in the area of scientific research at the University of Trento. I also engaged with the practices of cultural institutions, including as part of the EU funded project reCreating Europe.
Previously, I completed my studies at the University of Trento in Italy (Law degree), and at KU Leuven in Belgium (Master in ICT Law).
